The Volunteering Services Unit is a resource for all UCL departments to use. Ways in which we can help include:
-
We’ll talk to your students about volunteering at any point in the year.
-
We can produce a list of local volunteer opportunities that may be of particular interest to your students (for example, we’ve compiled information on mental health charities for Psychology students).
-
We can provide advice if you are interesting in developing partnerships with charities or community organisations.
-
We have organised volunteering days for teams of staff (for example, UCL’s Development Department had a day out at Freightliners City Farm).
-
We can support your students who may have an idea for their own community project, as part of our Innovations Programme. For example, a group of English students set up a series of Book Clubs in local schools with the support of the VSU and their tutors. Read about some of our student-led projects.
If you’d like to know more, or if you’ve other suggestions about how we might work with your department, email volunteering@ucl.ac.uk or phone us on x30145. We're also currently setting up a mailing list of Departmental Contacts - so if you'd like us to keep you updated about developments in the volunteering world, please drop us a line.
