Campaigns are an important and vibrant part of the work of ULCU, we campaign to create change on the issues that matter to students whether that be on campus on in wider society. As well as running campaigns we support students to run their own campaigns on the issues that matter to them. Campaigns are a part of the culture of many students’ unions and UCLU is no exception.
Do you have an issue about UCL or UCLU that you think needs to be changed? If so, we want to hear about it. Anything from your experience in lectures, the quality of facilities on campus, to the opening hours of the library can be submitted to the Union.
Share your campaign idea
If you simply want to share your issue and let UCLU take it forward on your behalf, then tell us about it here. All issues will be considered by Union staff and elected Officers and we’ll do our best to act to create change for you. This may mean that the issue is raised with senior management at UCL, developed into Union Policy to direct the Union’s position on an issue, or lead into a campus-wide campaign. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t want – just let us know your issue and we’ll do the rest!
Be a campaigner: run your own campaign
If you want to run your own campaign with the Union’s support including training, funding and campaigning expertise, then all you need to do is tell us your idea here with some details on your campaign issue, why the issue needs changed and who (if anyone) is going to help you in your campaign. We will then arrange a meeting with our expert campaign staff to discuss your idea further and to develop your ideas into a campaign proposal which you will be asked to present to a Campaigns Panel made up for staff and students. If your proposal is approved by the Panel, you will then have the full range of support that UCLU can offer.
If you have any questions about how to submit an idea, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
