"Should UCLU support the UCL occupation?"

An extraordinary meeting of the Union Executive Committee held on 6th December 2010 determined that a referendum should be held due to the fact that a significant number of students had to be turned away from the Extraordinary General Meeting because the capacity of the lecture theatre had been reached.

The EGM went on to debate 'Motion to Support the UCL Occupation' and passed an amended version (click here to access Motion) with the following result:

For: 252
Against: 59
Abstentions: 16

The referendum vote will open on Wednesday 15 December at 10am and close on Friday 17 December at midday. Results will be announced in the afternoon of Friday 17th. For more information on the venues and times of the open meetings held for the referendum please see below under 'Join the debate'.

The quorum for a referendum is 10% of members (2691 as calculated from Registry data at the beginning of the academic year as per UCLU's Standing Orders)
