University College London Union

IoESU and UCLU have now merged.

Welcome to our new IoE students

Thank you for visiting the IoESU website. You have been directed to uclu.org.

In December 2014, UCL merged with the Institute of Education to create a new institution with over 35,000 students, confirming UCL as the biggest higher education institution in London, and the largest postgraduate institution in the UK, with 19,000 postgraduate students and over 11,000 staff.

This merger has also led to a merger of the respective students’ unions, the IoESU and UCLU. Students from both institutions now enjoy equal access to all of the services offered by the two unions, which for the sake of clarity will all come under the umbrella of UCLU. There services include:

  • Facilities such as bars, cafes, shops and a fully equipped gym located conveniently around campus
  • Events, ranging from organised trips, tours, and pub quizzes, to music, comedy and much more
  • Services including a JobShop, Advice and Welfare, Representation and Campaigning, and Volunteering
  • Clubs and Societies - with over 250 to choose from covering sport, culture, faith, arts, performance, media and general interest there is something for everyone

This is just a flavour of what’s on offer. There is much more besides and there is always something going on and friendly people to help you. So take a look around our website to see what else you can get involved with.

Whatever you were searching for that brought you here, you should now be to find it on uclu.org. If you can’t and have a question, please do get in touch with us.
