Bloomsbury Theatre Bid Instructions

Bidding is now open to put on a production at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre!

DEADLINE FOR BIDS:
5pm, Wednesday 23rd February to uclu-csactivity@ucl.ac.uk.

Can clubs and societies use the Bloomsbury Theatre?
Every year, clubs and societies can bid to produce shows in UCL’s own 535-seat professional West End theatre. Bids for the remainder of this academic year have already been allocated and have included productions such as the Drama Society's Seagull and Macbeth, Musical Theatre Society's performances of Anything Goes and Rent, the annual Dance Society production, the Malaysian Society production and many more besides!

How can my club or society get a slot in the theatre?
Bids to produce a show in the Bloomsbury Theatre in the academic year 2010-2011 are now open! To submit a bit, you should follow these instructions:

Step 1:
Make sure that you have both a Producer and Director for the proposed bid, as well as a good idea of what you want to do. Before you go any further, check the availability of performance rights for your chosen production. You should also download and read the Criteria and Guidelines (above).

Step 2:
Speak to the President and Treasurer of the society you would like to bid on behalf of to get their support.

Step 3:
Arrange a meeting with UCLU Stage Crew to discuss the technical elements of your proposal such as set, sound and lighting ideas. To arrange a meeting you should email stagecrew@ucl.ac.uk.

Step 4:
Download the Bid form from above and complete it, before returning it to uclu-csactivity@ucl.ac.uk by 5pm on Wednesday 23rd February 2011. Pay particular attention to the budget at this stage, and involve your Producer, Director, President and Treasurer in drawing it up.

Step 5:
Download and print the Cover Sheet from above and arrange for the relevant people to sign it before you return it to the Sabbatical Suite by 5pm on Wednesday 23rd February 2011.

Step 6:
Once your bid has been submitted you will be required to make a presentation to the UCLU Bloomsbury Theatre Allocation Committee. The date and time of this is TBC.

Step 7:
The final results of the process will be announced before the end of term.
