So, you’re planning to come to UCL in September 2014…

Congratulations on getting an offer from UCL. What lies ahead is a brilliant education at one of the world’s best universities, as well as all the experiences of studying right in the centre of London. We here at UCLU are here to help you make the most of that.

Welcome Events & Activities

We are working hard to resolve the issue surrounding online sales from our shop.

Unfortunately, the issue has not yet been resolved and we are not in a position to open sales on our shop again yet. We endeavour to fix the problem as soon as possible and will keep you updated on the progress. At the moment, we hope to have this fixed by 2pm, tomorrow, Wednesday, 3 September.

For those of you who attempted to purchase tickets for Welcome events before sales went offline, we will process your order and/or issue refund(s) where necessary as soon as practicable. We will notify you when this becomes possible; again, we hope to achieve this now by tomorrow afternoon.

We apologise most sincerely for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

If you have attempted to purchase a ticket from our online shop before sales were taken offline, we are working on rectifying the situation, and have your details so we will be in touch to clarify your purchase. If you tried to purchase tickets twice in error, please send us an email via our contact form and we will administer any necessary refund.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience.

Throughout the Welcome period - and the year - UCLU host a wide range of events and activities to make sure you don’t spend all your time in the library. With the big club nights you might be expecting as well as a range of things you may not, from markets to West End shows, to comedy and quizzes, we have it all in store for you. Keep checking back for updates and new events as they are added!

Club Nights

We’ve planned a variety of club nights at some of London’s biggest venues including KOKO, Fabric and Ministry of Sound, but that’s not all; there are loads of other unbelievable nights lined up so do keep checking back for updates and new events as they are added.

You can tell your friends you’re going to our events on Facebook, too; find all our events on our Facebook page listings and click to say you’re going!

Have a look at our bars, and join us there for the pre-parties before the big club nights when you arrive. And remember we have cafés too serving up tea, coffee and food for the mornings-after!

Welcome Fair

Over 230 clubs and societies as well as loads of local and national companies and organisations will have a stall at our Welcome Fair, which will take over the UCL Quad and main building on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September. You can also find out loads more about UCLU and what we do as well as how you can get involved in a campaign or being a volunteer or becoming an elected officer to represent your classmates.

Volunteering Fair

Make the most of your time at UCL by volunteering with either one-off projects or regular commitments. The Volunteering Fair on Thursday 9 and 10 October from 12-3pm in the Cloisters will showcase loads of ways that you can get involved while you’re here.

We are still firming up dates and the final programme but keep an eye on @UCLU on Twitter or UCL Union on Facebook for updates.

Postgraduate Students

Starting a postgraduate degree, either straight after your undergraduate degree or following a break, can present new challenges, but UCLU, as well as the Postgraduate Association (PGA), are here to support you while you study and research.
